Owie Pick

Post by Mario LeMoose » Sat Aug 15, 2015 4:45 pm

NEW FOR THIS LEAGUE:

Allow one end-of-draft replacement pick per team if, while the draft is underway, a manager loses a player to a confirmed season-ending injury. The replacement pick priority order will coordinate with each qualifying injured player's original draft position. Replacement picks must be identified within 24 hours following the conclusion of the draft.

(This is not a setting available in Yahoo; Commish Tools will be used to execute the replacement player transaction.)

Flot's Admission

I've been rather horrible over the past years doing anything right by way of being competitive. Here and in our baseball league.

Now be ready for a more dedicated Flot to the cause :)

A couple things I'm sure will be hot issues to discuss. I'd love to hear the banter and views. I'll pose them as statements, but understand I'm poking the soft side of your thoughts.

1) Roger Goodell should resign as quickly as possible!

2) Trophies are for winners (Harrison's recent Tweet)

3) A guy with the second worse QBR last year is better than Manziel

I'll have to admit that you made me look up #3. A couple of websites named Josh McCown as the player with second lowest quarterback rating last season, while another listed simply "Tennessee Titans QB." All three, however, had Blake Bortles, whom I drafted as an extra QB in last year's league, at the bottom. I didn't expect much from him, and he certainly succeeded in meeting those expectations.

1. Goodell's excellent handling of the Brady scandal should buy him some more time, although overall you couldn' t give him a great mark as commissioner.

BTW my move is complete and I'll be ready to go on Monday.

Yes, McCown was who I was speaking of. I was curious as to how long it will be before the Manziel chants begin again. McCown, with that stellar QBR, should have enough issues with his surrounding "talent" to keep him right where he was last year. Poor guy. :)

Oh I think the words by the judge hearing the case has already set the Commish up for a bit of heartburn.
Just a few comments pertaining to the court hearing:

Judge Berman has made public three main opinions:

1) The Wells Report doesn't have any concrete link to Tom Brady and football pressure during the AFC Championship game. Even Ted Wells, during Brady's appeal, refused to say that Brady directed any nefarious operation.

2) How did Roger Goodell come to decide that football inflation was more similar to steroid use than from an equipment violation? The equipment violation is covered by the player policies, while Judge Berman seemed to question the legality of conflating performance enhancing drugs to an inflated football..

3) The fact the NFL prevented Jeff Pash, who co-led the investigation, from testifying during Brady's appeal shows an unfair process that could violate the CBA.

Seems dubious at best, and a great situation, for my Steelers if everything holds up as we play them sooner than later. I just don't want to be in front of this team with a guy like Belichik gearing up to beat up on the NFL after this mess. Nice going NFL(errrr Goodell) giving this organization every reason to have a chip on its shoulder.

The best though - " Colts’ Dwayne Allen: Patriots Could’ve ‘Played With Soap For Balls And Beat Us’

Yes Dwayne, I think we all saw that. Now just be sure your QB isn't approving the wrong balls before games or the colts organization will really look like a bunch of hypocrites. Please don't do that to us.

OK, we're just three rounds in and for the last two rounds my top guy has been swiped out from under my by the manager before me. Dammit.
